Pit & Fissure Sealants

Our Pit & Fissure Sealant Process

    • Comprehensive Evaluation: During your dental exam, our experienced dentists will assess the condition of your teeth and determine if you could benefit from pit and fissure sealants. We’ll focus on the chewing surfaces of your molars and premolars, where sealants are most commonly applied.

    • Cleaning and Preparation: Before applying the sealants, we’ll thoroughly clean and dry the teeth to ensure proper adhesion. We may also use a special etching gel to roughen the surface of the teeth, allowing the sealants to bond more effectively.

    • Application of Sealants: Using a small brush or applicator, we’ll apply the liquid sealant material to the chewing surfaces of the teeth. The sealant quickly hardens and forms a protective shield over the pits and fissures, effectively sealing them off from bacteria and food particles.

    • Curing and Checking: In some cases, we may use a special curing light to harden the sealant and ensure a durable bond to the tooth surface. Once the sealants are in place, we’ll check your bite and make any necessary adjustments to ensure comfort and functionality.

Benefits of Professional Teeth Whitening:

    • Cavity Prevention: Sealants provide an extra layer of protection against cavities by sealing off the vulnerable pits and fissures on the chewing surfaces of the teeth.
    • Long-Term Protection: With proper care and maintenance, sealants can last for several years, offering long-term protection against decay.
    • Painless and Non-Invasive: The sealant application process is quick, painless, and non-invasive, making it an ideal preventive measure for patients of all ages.
    • Cost-Effective: Sealants are a cost-effective way to prevent cavities and avoid the need for more extensive dental treatment in the future.
